Hi, I wanted to ask if the successful candidate for the temporary parental leave would have to be someone local in Glasgow? I am based in Edinburgh, and I cannot relocate at the moment but would be very interested in the role.

Hello Iina, and thanks for your query. Candidates do not need to be local to Glasgow, but it might be worth noting that this isn’t a remote-working position so commuting into the library building would be required. Thanks, Emily

Hi, I am Noor.can some from abroad like I am from Pakistan can apply for this vacancy?

Hello Noor, and thanks for your query. Yes, you can apply for this vacancy as long as you are able to relocate to (or near) Glasgow as both posts require the candidate to work at the GWL building. Thanks, Emily

Hi Emily,

What an exciting opportunity!

I was wondering if the weekly commitments are set in stone for you? For example, if one of the successful applicants wanted to work full time (37 hours) could the second position become 2 days per week?

I ask because I am trying to wear down my hours at work, so I can work on projects that are more important to me, but 3 days could be tricky. Equally, I can imagine someone else might prefer to work a full 5 days for the extra cash.

I will submit an application regardless, I just wanted to pose the idea.

Many thanks,
Lily

Hi Lily,
Thanks for your message. It’s likely that the two positions would remain at the hours advertised, but please do submit an application. All the best, Emily

Hi, I am incredibly interested in these posts but due to the nature of my visa, I am only able to work 20 hours/week. I was just wondering if you were you currently advertising any other posts that I would be able to apply/volunteer for? Thank you!

Hello and thanks for your query. Please do consider putting in an application for the 21 hour post, with a note in the “any other information” about only being able to work 20 hours due to visa restrictions. We don’t have any other job opportunities at this time, All the best, Emily
