There are many ways to get involved with Glasgow Women’s Library. You can sign up to our mailing list (below) to get regular updates about what’s on at the Library, or just pop in to the Library to see us.
The Library is free to enter, and you don’t need an appointment to visit. If you’re coming to an event, please check the calendar to see if you need to book a ticket, and if you want to access material in our archive and museum collections, please contact us to arrange access at least two weeks before you plan to visit.
If you want to borrow books from our lending library, you can become a borrower – it’s completely free!
As well as the wide range of events, we offer support for women looking to improve their reading, writing or number skills. Find out how you can get help with reading, writing and numbers here.
Supporting the Library’s work
Glasgow Women’s Library has always grown with the support of volunteers – if you are interested in volunteering with the Library, take a look at our volunteering opportunities.
It costs £5 each day to support each learner to access all that we have to offer and we have no funding for core costs. We rely on our Friends and supporters to ensure we can continue to offer and deliver our services to all. Make a donation online now, and help us to continue our important work.
Become a Friend for just £5 a month and help the Library to provide its services to as many women as possible, and ensure the Library can continue to preserve and promote the lives and experiences of Scotland’s women.
Working with GWL
As well as our volunteering opportunities, we are sometimes able to take on student or work placements.
If you are interested in collaborating with GWL on an project, or would like to propose an event, please take a look at our guidelines for working with GWL.
