Sally Hackett’s SLOGAN MUGS celebrate the reality of sexuality, such as the beauty of pubic hair and the importance of orgasms. Inspired by the humour and protest present in comic books, slogan badges and handmade zines within the Glasgow Women’s Library archive, alongside some curious mugs from sexual health clinics, these designs address the responsibilities, pressures, expectations and assumptions involved in sexuality.
Each porcelain mug is slip cast by ceramicist Anna Lewandowska-Mirska at Glasgow Ceramics Studio and painted by Sally Hackett with different strokes, marks and feelings.
Please note, each mug is individually hand-painted and each is unique! Your mug may be slightly different from the mug pictured.
