This art installation created from medical correspondence and leaflets seeks to encourage discussion around Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and reframe its numerous – yet often unspoken – narratives.
We’ll celebrate the life of Scottish artist Georgina Smith through an exhibition of her lino prints. Inspired by her environment and the people close to her, her artwork often incorporates elements from her own life, including her anti-nuclear activism, for which she was imprisoned many times.
This small, interactive exhibition draws on a new open-access digital archive at GWL to reveal ‘transoceanic’ networks that stretched across the Atlantic and Pacific in the 1980s and 90s, linking Greenham women and Indigenous communities.
IN PERSON: Led by our volunteer History Detectives, this guided walk will focus on some of the achievements and struggles of the industrious and resourceful women of Glasgow's East End, and the radical nature of the area which gave birth to them.
