Story Café Special: Open Scroll (開卷) with Ricefield Arts

Immerse yourself in tales and poems from around the world, as we rediscover the joy of being read to. From wild and windswept wonderlands, to fearless feminist fairytales, Story Café will spark your curiosity and freshen your perspective. Story Café Special: Open Scroll          (開卷) with Ricefield Arts, Thursday 26th September, 12.30pm to 2.30pm, £2/Free, 16+, Women only

It’s a huge pleasure to welcome Ricefield Arts to Story Cafe, to celebrate the words of Chinese women writers. We’ll be exploring the subtleties of translation and story-telling through the eyes of contemporary writers including Lo Mei Wa and Yan Ge.

Discussions will be in English, and readings will be in both English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin) and you may find some of these works in Ricefield Arts Chinese Library collection. For more details, please visit http://ricefieldgogreen.org.uk/library

Booking

This event is for women only* and there are two ticket options: a £2 ticket and a Free ticket. If a ticket price of £2 is in any way a barrier to you attending this event please choose a Free ticket. We also offer a Free ticket if you are a Friend of GWL. Please book online below or you can call us on 0141 550 2267. If you have booked a place and are no longer able to attend please let us know so that we can make your place available to someone else.

*All women-only events are inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender fluid people.

Accessibility

Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop. A portable induction loop is also available. For paid events free companion tickets are available.
