Open Forum: Housing is a Feminist Issue

ONLINE: Presented in partnership with Living Rent, Scotland’s tenants’ union, this online workshop will explore housing activism as part of feminist struggle, with a focus on creative organising and union-building. Six invited speakers will contribute short presentations on their experiences and research followed by collective feedback and more focused small group discussions.

Joan Eardley: A Centenary of Lives and Landscapes

28th October, 2021 - 12th February, 2022

Joan Eardley (1921-1963) was one of Scotland’s most expressive twentieth century artists and is a firm favourite of Glasgow Women’s Library. To celebrate the centenary of Joan’s birth we’re thrilled to exhibit five striking artworks on loan from the University of Edinburgh Art Collection.

Decolonising Women’s Rights: Indigenous Perspectives

ONLINE: Sikowis Nobiss, Plains Cree/Saulteaux and founder of Great Plains Action Society, will speak at GWL during her Scotland tour, where she will be an important voice on indigenous rights at COP26. Sikowis is active in Native American politics, protection of rights, climate change mitigation, justice and fairness in representations in popular culture and cultural festivals.

Consciously Rising Exhibition

20th November, 2021 - 5th February, 2022

Consciously Rising is an exhibition of new print works created collaboratively and individually by a group of women who met regularly online during lockdown. The group used feminist consciousness-raising to facilitate discussions and each member drew on their own experience.

Misogyny and Other Monsters: A GWL Dungeons and Dragons Game
