This is a new post (one of two part-time Archivist posts dedicated to this Project) to work specifically on a joint partnership project with Scottish Women’s Aid, Scotland’s leading voluntary sector organisation working to prevent domestic abuse and promote effective policy and practice responses for women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse.

To mark SWA’s 40th anniversary, the organisation is working with Glasgow Women’s Library, Glasgow University’s Centre for Gender History and Women’s History Scotland to deliver a heritage project which will collect, conserve, analyse, celebrate and share the history and achievements of the Women’s Aid network in Scotland.

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for two years, this Project will bring together the currently dispersed heritage of the Scottish Women’s Aid movement into a single accessible archive to record, preserve and disseminate the history of Women’s Aid in Scotland.
