Joan Eardley: A Centenary of Lives and Landscapes

Joan Eardley (1921-1963) was one of Scotland’s most expressive twentieth century artists and is a firm favourite of Glasgow Women’s Library. To celebrate the centenary of Joan’s birth we’re thrilled to exhibit five striking artworks on loan from the University of Edinburgh Art Collection.

Consciously Rising is an exhibition of new print works created collaboratively and individually by a group of women who met regularly online during lockdown. The group used feminist consciousness-raising to facilitate discussions and each member drew on their own experience.
