Bridgeton Train Station: Temporary Closure

Please be aware that Bridgeton Train Station will be closed from the 13th of March until the 8th of May due to major improvement works on the track, tunnels and overhead line equipment between Rutherglen and the Exhibition Centre. The Argyle line will be closed and no services will run during that time.

If you can, we encourage you to consider walking or cycling. Cycling Route 75 follows the Clyde to Glasgow Green which is a 3 minute ride from Landressy Street along cycle paths. We suggest using CycleStreets.net to plan your journey to and from GWL.

There are bike racks in the small square on James Street as well as our very own bike shelter which is available for visitors. It is locked but please ask our front of house team if you would like to use it.

A rail replacement bus service will operate every half hour Monday – Saturday from the 13th of March until the 8th of May. These services will pick up/drop off from London Road. Additionally, a number of regular bus services alight near the library, these include the 18, 43, 46, 64, 65, 164, 263 or 2 to London Road/Bridgeton Cross

For information on bus services call:

FirstGlasgow: 0141 423 6600
Glasgow Citybus: 0141 954 2255
Scottish Citylink Coaches: 08705 505050

Bellgrove train station will remain open and is a short distance from GWL. It takes around 15 minutes to walk from Bridgeton to Bellgrove, where you can connect with a rail service in to Glasgow Queen Street (Low Level).

You can find out more about the closure on the Scotrail website here.
