NMRD Object of the Month: December

Established in 2012, the National Museum of Roller Derby (NMRD) is the UK’s first permanent collection of ephemera and memorabilia relating to the sport of Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby. Our ‘Object of the Month’ celebrates objects from our ever expanding collections.

We want your old team shirts, flyers, zines and other paraphernalia to illustrate the remarkable development of the sport in the UK. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for future announcements on how to donate items to the Museum

December 2020

It’s the end of the year (finally!) and it’s time to get festive. Roller derby, like other sports and industries, has been hit hard this year but we can all still pull together and try and make 2021 a year to make up for it all. Roller derby is about coming together, being inclusive, and working hard. It is about camaraderie, friendship, and being part of a family and that has never been more important than in 2020.

Programme: Seasons Beatings!
Roller Derby programme for “Seasons Beatings!” Friends & Family Bout featuring Glasgow Roller Girls’ Team White vs Team Black at the Arc Sports Centre on Sat 27th Nov.

Tis the season to be jolly and while 2020 hasn’t been the year that anyone wished for, we here at GWL hope you have a lovely festive season (whilst sticking within the rules of course!) and lang may your lum reek!
