Margaret Fraser Smith

Margaret Fraser Smith

“My name is Margaret Fraser Smith and I was a Suffragette. I once took an early morning stroll to a post-office in Dundee to make a delivery – a toffee hammer tied with ribbons in purple, white and green. I was imprisoned for trying to disrupt a meeting, went on hunger strike and was released to loud cheers from the crowd that had gathered to greet me and sister hunger strikers.”

Researched by GWL and read by Rachel White

Animation by Carla Cassidy, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee

Location: Dundee, Scotland
