EMILY INSPIRES! NEW WRITING COMPETITION
Just got word of this writing competition and I thought I’d post it here in case you’re interested. But if you are, the deadline is very soon, so get writing!
‘Emily Inspires!’ is a programme of events which will culminate in June 2013 to raise awareness about Suffragette, Emily Wilding Davison. Only submissions of prose (max 300 words) or poetry (up to 50 lines) from the perspective of Emily, Emily’s mother (Margaret) or her Neighbour and driver (Bob) will be accepted.
Prize:
Winning entries will be performed during the Centennial Commemorative Weekend in Morpeth, recorded for listenupnorth.com and uploaded to the website. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes nationally with 3 winners for the best entries from Northumberland residents.
Also included in the prize is a 2 night break in Northumberland at Longhirst Hall, an i-pad, £100 cash donated by SCA, a selection of Northumberland goodies, gift vouchers from Sanderson Arcade and subscriptions to North East Life and Myslexia magazine’s, respectively.
Entrants should be 18 years and above.
