‘Her-Story’ workshop at Wigtown Book Festival

We held a ‘Her-Story’ workshop at Wigtown Community Festival in July of this year (read about it here); it was such a success that we are going back down for the famous Book Festival to run it again!

Why don’t you come along down to Wigtown town centre and enjoy a multimedia experience with Glasgow Women’s Library and Wigtown Women’s Walk Group. There is no booking necessary for this informal drop-in session, where you can:

– Tell us your story or the story of an important woman in your life, and record it for Glasgow Women’s Library’s archives. Bring along an object that reminds you of her – photographs, letters, clothes, crafts, any memento of her life.

– If you would rather be on the listening end, we will have lots of sound recordings and videos of fantastic women from our oral histories archives.

– See an exhibition of photographs from Wigtown Women’s Walk Group, featuring the lives and histories of Wigtown’s local heroines.

This exciting event will be taking place on Tuesday 28th September, from 2-5pm in Wigtown town centre (venue to be confirmed). If you would like any more information about the workshop, please contact Morag by phoning 0141 248 9969 or emailing morag.smith@womenslibrary.org.uk.
