Seeing Things visit Domestic Bliss at GOMA

28th May, 2019, 11:00am to 1:00pm

Seeing things

Seeing Things is a group that meet up to see art, performances and cultural events put on by women across Glasgow and beyond. We think it’s more fun to go to see things together, and we usually have a cup of tea or coffee afterwards.  Our trips are always free. It would be great if you could come along!

A photograph of a mixed media artwork. The artwork is Home Ornaments, 2002 – 5, by Daphne Wright. It appears as an arrangement of miniature figures, a parrot, a blue hamster, a photo frame with a photo of a monkey in it. Some grey cacti and model figure of a building.

What: Visiting GOMA for Domestic Bliss exhibition. With a tour from its curator, Katie Bruce.

When: Tuesday 28th May, 11am-1pm

Where: Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Exchange Square

Who With: Mattie & Doreen

Why you should join us: We’re very excited to see Domestic Bliss, an exhibition of work by over 27 artists, chosen from Glasgow Museums’ collection to reflect on GoMA’s building history as a former house, Royal Exchange and civic space.

We’re also going to have the insight of GOMA curator, Katie Bruce, so it’ll be an opportunity to find out more about the aims of the exhibition and the process of it being put together!

The exhibition examines domestic labour and feminism, public and private space, intimate relationships and historical narratives.

We will be in the foyer, from 10.45 and the exhibition tour will start at 11. There will be time to explore the exhibition after the tour and to take it in at your own pace. We will regroup for a tea and a chat in the GOMA cafe!
