Hitherto Unknown: Research Workshops
4th February at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
“Literary history and the present are dark with silences.” Tillie Olsen, ‘Silences’, 1978.
Hitherto Unknown: Research Workshops, Thursday 4th October, 5.30pm to 7.30pm at GWL, Thursday 1st November, 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Mitchell Library, Monday 4th February, 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Platform
Inspired by writer and social activist, Tillie Olsen, and her legendary reading lists, these research workshops will uncover the writers and stories silenced by the barriers of gender, class and race. Across the city, in the archives and lending library collections, we will find vital voices that have been forgotten and build our own new reading list.
For events which take place in other venues, the facilitators will meet you at the other venue. Alternatively, you can meet at GWL earlier to travel together. Please call or email us to ask for details as you would need to meet at GWL earlier than stated times above.
This workshop is open to all and is free to attend. Please book below (you will be taken through the shopping cart but no charge will be made) or you can call us on 0141 550 2267. If you have booked a place and are no longer able to attend please let us know so that we can make your place available to someone else.
