Please note: this session will be taking place at the Mitchell Library. Meeting at the café, Granville Street entrance, 10am. We will be looking at some of the amazing materials in the Mitchell Library’s archive and searching for Dennistoun people and stories. (With support from Heather Midddleton and Mitchell Library staff.)

Who are the women in Dennistoun’s past? Maybe you have a story of a local woman who deserve to be remembered or would like to learn new skills in how to research and discover your local history?

Discover Women’s History in Dennistoun, Friday 28th July, 10am to 11.30am, Mitchell Library, Free, Women only

In this exciting new project, we’ll discover the hidden stories of local women and then help to develop a new women’s heritage trail and booklet. We’ll also be taking field trips and sharing our own memories.

You don’t need any previous experience of heritage work – we will include training and support. This project is a chance to make new friends, develop new skills and share your stories of women in Dennistoun.

“I really enjoyed…meeting new like-minded people and making new friendships, sparking memories of good times, the opportunity to share … and gaining …an appreciation of how things were for female family members and other women” East Dunbartonshire women’s heritage project participant

This project is offered with support from Glasgow City Council Local Area Fund
