You can help GWL’s life-changing work through the Women on the Shelf initiative, designed to raise essential funds for refurbishing our future permanent premises in Bridgeton.

GWL staff are working with Collective Architecture on plans for the renovation and refurbishment of Bridgeton Library

It’s simple. Sponsor a Women’s Library section, shelf or book and dedicate it to an inspiring woman of your choice, whether an historic heroine, a woman making an impact today; a pioneer or an extraordinary aunt. This makes a great present – as unique as the Women’s Library itself!

Every sponsor will be acknowledged in the fabric of the new Women’s Library building and every penny raised will go towards the renovation fund.

For £10 you can sponsor an individual book and we will record your donation with a bookplate.

For £100 anyone can sponsor a shelf and dedicate it to a woman of your choice. Your name and the dedication will be recorded forever in our new premises.

For £1,000 you can sponsor a Library section, enabling us to make major steps towards our aim of relaunching in premises of excellence that befit a unique national resource in Scotland.
