To mark Glasgow Women’s Library’s 21st anniversary, the Library commissioned 21 women artists to create new work inspired by items and artefacts in our collections.
Lucy Skaer’s Cheiron in Type is a photograph of a damaged copy of ‘Cheiron’ by R.C. Trevelyan published by the Hogarth press and printed in 1927. The book is cast in to a block with melted down tin type.

Moneses Uniflora: Exclusive ltd edition etching and handmade artist’s book by Amanda Thomson
To mark Glasgow Women’s Library’s 21st anniversary, the Library commissioned 21 women artists to create new work inspired by items and artefacts in our collections.
Amanda Thomson's Moneses Uniflora consists of a print and a bookwork. The title refers to the Latin name for the one-flowered wintergreen, a rare plant that was the favourite flower of Mary McCallum Webster, a self-taught botanist who died in 1986.

21 Revolutions: The Publication
A stunning book featuring creative responses by 42 women artists and writers to Glasgow Women’s Library’s archive and collection.
In 2012 Glasgow Women’s Library celebrated its 21st birthday. To mark two decades of life-changing work, GWL commissioned 21 internationally renowned artists and 21 published writers to create new works inspired by our unique museum, archive and library collections. The resulting fine art prints, poems and creative writing have been brought together with the sources that inspired the work in a beautiful, lushly illustrated, enlightening and readable book.

Kate Gibson's Homespun is a homage to the dedicated homemakers of the 1950s. It’s a modern-day domestic sticker bombing campaign, where completed chores are rewarded with stickers to be collected like coupons or co-op stamps.
