Please introduce yourself-

I’m Caitlin. Front of house volunteer at GWL.

What is your role at the library and what does it entail?-I mainly work on the reception as front of house staff. I greet people as they come in,answer phones and help people borrow books.I am also working with Claire Hunter on Material Matters which involves discussing important textiles women have that mean something to them.I also work on the sign in book and I’m putting it in our archive so we have records of visitors.

What attracted you to the organisation?-I visited the library when it was at Mitchell to interview an archivist as I was interested in what it involved. They were very friendly .Over the past year I contacted Gabby to see about working here. I searched for where I could fit in and found front of house suited best. I’ve found the library very friendly and warm. You meet so many different people and the library is used in such different ways by people. I also love that it’s a place for learning and support too.

Sum up the library in one word?

Peaceful.
