The What’s On at Glasgow Women’s Library guide for September to December 2014 is out now! You can download your copy now, or pop in and pick up a copy from us here at the Library. Over the coming weeks our wonderful PaperGirls will be distributing the guides across the city, let us know if a venue near you would take a supply and we can add them to our route.
This season we have some great new partnerships and as ever will be bringing you a wide range of events.
We have teamed up with Glasgow Film Theatre to bring you Teknowomen, a season of film that charts the depiction of women in Science Fiction. Part of the BFI Sci-Fi season Days of Fear and Wonder. We will be screening Alien and Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines here at the Library.
HOUSE WORK CASTLE MILK WOMAN HOUSE is a project which explores the importance of the pioneering work of women involved in the Castlemilk Womanhouse project which existed between 1990 and 1995. Part of GENERATION: a major, nation-wide exhibition programme. We have talks, screenings and events happening in September and October.
March of Women is a community arts project in partnership with Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, which will bring together women through a dramatic celebration of local history and social space. We have workshops and events taking place throughout 2014 and culminating in a performance event in March 2015.
24th to 30th November sees Book Week Scotland take place across the country and we have a week full of activities for you to take part in. Our Dragon’s Pen writing competition opens on 2nd October with our annual Dragon’s Pen event on Thursday 27th November. Click here to see all our Book Week Scotland related events.
