Come along to our garden party* and find out more about what you can look forward to at GWL over the summer months as we launch our Summer 2024 Programme.
You can get a sneak preview of our new garden space created for Glasgow International Festival of Art 2024 with artist Reiko Goto Collins, have a tour of our building and hear about the imminent work to dramatically reduce our carbon emissions, and be the first to sign up to other activities taking place this summer: Women’s Heritage Walks, Story Cafes, reading and writing groups, and opportunities to hear from formidable writers including Sara Ahmed, Jackie Kay and GWL’s own Donna Moore.
There will also be tea and cake, a garden plant giveaway (or swap! – please bring any seedlings you’d like to share), information from cycling organisations, and a display of materials from our museum and archive about the ways women have, and continue to care for, connect with, and learn from the natural environment.
The party will consist of an afternoon and an evening session. The timings are below:
Afternoon session: 1pm to 2.30pm
Evening session: 5pm to 7pm
*Weather permitting.
Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop. A portable induction loop is also available.
Find more information on Accessibility at GWL or contact us and we will be very happy to offer assistance.
