Comfort will present a Breast Quilt made by 180 women and teenage girls in workshops across the UK, including Cancer Support groups, Homeless Day Centres, 3 Schools, a Trans Clinic, Poland’s Syndrome support, Women’s Groups, Art students and two workshops hosted by Glasgow Women’s Library.
The artwork explores the subject of breasts, from prepubescent hopes and dreams to the joys and frustrations of breastfeeding. From the realities of old age to sexualisation, to operations for health and transgender women’s feminisation. These are women’s stories of embarrassment, pleasure, pain, joy and comfort.
Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop. A portable induction loop is also available.
Find more information on Accessibility at GWL or contact us and we will be very happy to offer assistance.
