A world of women’s words, written, spoken, read and heard.
At Glasgow Women’s Library we have a wide range of projects and events that embrace reading and writing. These are as varied as our adult literacy programme supporting women at all stages of their literacy journey; our Story Café where participants (re)discover the joy of being read to over tea and biscuits; our Reading Group for Muslim Women which brings together women interested in books written by Muslim women or with a focus on women’s issues; and our annual Bold Types event which is a supportive and encouraging creative writing competition.
We use our amazing and diverse library, museum and archive collections, all of which have been donated, to inspire our reading and writing events and projects, both at GWL and out and about.
If you’re new to reading, would like some suggestions, or simply love talking about books and writing, then join us for one of our events or get in touch to find out how you can be part of our reading and writing community.
