The team was first formed to compete at the 2011 Roller Derby World Cup and finished the tournament in ninth place. The 2018 German team finished in 13th place at the 2018 Roller Derby World Cup in Manchester.”

“The goal of the national teams is to promote and further develop the sporting ability, the sports and team spirit of the individual players, as well as roller derby as a sport. In order to prepare for international competitions, the national teams regularly train at different locations in Germany. The first women’s national team was founded in 2010 by the then existing Roller Derby clubs and took part in the first ever Roller Derby World Championship in Toronto, Canada, together with 12 other nations in the winter of 2011. At that time, teams from 13 countries and four continents competed against each other, with Germany taking 9th place. The men’s national team was formed three years later on the occasion of the inaugural Men’s World Cup. The men finished 11th against 14 other nations in March 2014. Since February 2022, we have divided the national teams into FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary and trans people) and all-gender (participation possible regardless of gender) instead of women* and men*.”
