During 2017, as part of the Heritage Lottery Funded Made in Kirkintilloch project, 10 East Dunbartonshire women came together to form a new Women’s History Group. Working with artist Rachel Mimiec and curator, Fiona Dean, they embarked on a personal journey, responding to local history and heritage, with a particular emphasis on women’s work.

Join us for the launch of the exhibition, meet the women who were involved and hear the stories of their creative journeys in designing the shawls and discovering the histories of local women. This exhibition runs until the 22nd September and you can read more about it here.

We’re launching this exhibition during our Autumn Programme Launch, so if you’re new to the Library, this is a perfect chance to get to know us, have a cup of tea and a tour, and browse our second hand book sale.

Booking

This exhibition is free to attend and there is no need to book. For opening times see the ‘Where to Find Us’ section of the website.
