Dear GWL, is it permissible to spoon with a young man before we’re engaged? Should I singe the hairs off the pig’s trotters before roasting them? Is dancing bad for my ovaries? Love, Confused of Glasgow.
Dear Confused – We have just the thing for you. Come and explore some of the useful, quaint and downright outrageous advice contained in the archives of Glasgow Women’s Library and the National Library of Scotland Moving Image Archive.
Whether it’s advice on relationships, family planning, public health, or hair and beauty, we’ll be rummaging through Glasgow Women’s Library’s archive to uncover some of the helpful – and not so helpful – advice for women in our collection, as well as watching some of the short films in the National Library of Scotland Moving Image Archive, working towards curating an exciting exhibition using some of your favourite top tips from both archives.
We would love for you to join us for all of the workshops as during Spring we will be developing an exhibition together. However, if you can only make it to some, we would be pleased for you to join. Each session has it’s own booking page.
