Rediscover the joy of being read to at our legendary lunchtime Story Café, as we immerse ourselves in tales of life, love and longing by the best women writers from across the globe.
Set amidst the taverns and tenements of Edinburgh, award-winning writer Dilys Rose’s latest novel, Unspeakable, is based on the true story of the last person in Britain to be tried and executed for blasphemy. Evoking the intolerance of 17th century Scotland, this richly atmospheric novel brings to life an unforgettable character with subtlety and deep humanity.
Dilys Rose has won many awards, including the Canongate Prize, the Macallan/Scotland on Sunday Short Story Competition, and a Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Award.
