Our warm and welcoming Story Café is the perfect way to relax over lunchtime. Bring along a bite to eat, grab a cuppa, and enjoy listening to wonderful short stories, novel extracts and poems by women writers from around the world.
Whether you’re an avid reader, or want to get into reading for the first time, this group is a great way to discover the wealth of writing on our shelves, meet new people and simply take some time out to recharge your batteries.

Please note that this week’s Story Café will take place at a slightly later time of 1pm to 3pm.
We have a range of Story Café specials coming up including: Refugee Week Special on Thursday 11th June with Remzije Sherifi; A Poetry Picnic with Grey Hen Press on Thursday 9th July; then on Thursday 25th June we welcome Jennifer Klinec, author of The Temporary Bride; and on Thursday 20th August Glasgow author Maggie Ritchie will be joining us to read from her award winning first novel, Paris Kiss.
These events each cost £2.00 full price, you can pay on the day. We offer subsidised and/or free places for students, people on a low income, unemployed or those in receipt of benefit and Friends of GWL.
