Seeing Things is a group that meet up to see art, performances and cultural events put on by women across Glasgow and beyond. We think it’s more fun to go to see things together, and we usually have a cup of tea or coffee afterwards. Our trips are always free. It would be great if you could come along!
What: Hidden Rhythms performance event
When: Friday 8th March, 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Where: Glasgow Women’s Library, Landressy Street
Who: Freya
Why should you join?
Come along to hear some poetry and songs celebrating life and everything that comes with it – joy, sadness, love, hope. Written and performed by young women who are often hidden, these songs and words with give us an insight into a world that is often overlooked. We will hear party bangers and sobby ballads that showcase a wide range of experience and personalities. These women want to share their stories – so let’s go along and be a part of them!
We will also be having a look at Artemisia Gentileschi’s Self Portrait as Saint Catherine of Alexandria (an oil painting from about 1615–17, which is at GWL while on it’s ‘grand tour’ from the National Gallery, London) before the Hidden Rhythm performances start at 6pm.
Access
Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop.
