WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN US: We are very fortunate to have been given free tickets (which are otherwise £4) to what looks like a fantastic film showing us the lives of women in very different situations to our own.
3000 Nights, directed by Mai Masri, is about a Palestinian schoolteacher who becomes a political prisoner. She gives birth to her child in an Israeli occupation prison, where she fights to protect him, survive and maintain hope. Based on a true story and real experiences of Palestinian women political prisoners. The film is in Arabic and Hebrew, with English subtitles. You can view the trailer here.
This film is F-rated. The F-Rating is applied to all films which are directed and/or written by women and/or feature women on screen who have a significant role.
We will be meeting in the lobby of the CCA at 6.45pm on Monday May 15th to see the film. As always, you are very welcome to join us for a cup of tea and a chat afterwards!
