We are very pleased to announce this special season of workshops in women’s protest song.
In an exciting twist to the ongoing Forward! project researching women peace crusaders, our new Protest Song Workshops offer a chance to raise our voices together in songs from Scotland and around the world. Protest Song Workshops are open to all women, especially those who think they cannot sing.
We won’t need to read music and there will be no auditions, solos or shame – protest songs are all about being creatively angry with a big dollop of joy! Come to one or all four of these sessions on Thursday evenings from 30th June to 21st July from 6pm to 7.30pm.
We are also invited to be part of a short performance taking place on 23rd July with a procession from Glasgow Green to Glasgow Women’s Library marking the launch of Forward! an exhibition which draws on research undertaken into some of the key figures of the Women’s Peace Crusade. Do join us – singing is good for the soul!
These workshops are for women only and are free to attend. Please book below (you will be taken through the shopping cart but no charge will be made) or you can call us on 0141 550 2267. If you have booked a place and are no longer able to attend please let us know so that we can make your place available to someone else.
