In this free, zine-making workshop we invite you to imagine the plant Japanese knotweed differently, sparking lively critical and creative debate.
Together we will print with the plant to generate new insights and imagine alternative and shared futures, exploring images of Japanese Knotweed through stencilling, collage and one-of-a-kind monotype prints from nature.
Please bring Japanese knotweed (if you have some, if not it will be provided) questions, difficulties, issues, and experimental thinking styles. No specific gardening or horticultural knowledge required.
Natural paints, Japanese Knotweed Paper, and an information package will be available for the participants at Glasgow Women’s Library in advance.
This is one of our ‘Take Part’ events this autumn! (‘Attend’ events mean you can listen or look in and enjoy the event with no pressure to join in, though there will likely be opportunities to chat too! ‘Take Part’ events involve a bit more activity or participation on your part, you are of course still welcome to do so as little or as much as you would like to.)
The event is free and for women only* (18+). To attend, please book below and we will share an email invitation with you. If you would like to make a donation to Glasgow Women’s Library, you can do so here.
*All women-only events are inclusive of Trans and Intersex women, as well as non-binary and gender fluid people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experience of women.
This session takes place via an online video call link. If you would like to attend, please book below and we will share an email invitation along with simple and straight forward instructions on how this will work.
