Immerse yourself in writing and recordings played through old telephones, where different voices touch on topics from politics to gender, loneliness to love. This installation invites you to write your own words to be shared with future visitors and will end with a publication of the collected works.
This interactive exhibition serves as a living archive of writing—a dialogue where visitors are encouraged not just to listen but to respond. You can contribute your own writing and leave your own ‘messages’. All the tools you need to start your own writing journey await you in the installation or join us for free writing sessions at GWL that we will host throughout the weeks.
After a year of exploring creative writing, the Free Writing Society invites you to experience the peaceful and connecting space they’ve discovered through writing and sharing.
The Free Writing Society will be running Free Writing Sessions at Glasgow Women’s Library and Online during the exhibition. A booking link will be up soon.
Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop. A portable induction loop is also available.
Find more information on Accessibility at GWL or contact us and we will be very happy to offer assistance.
No need to book in advance, drop-in.
