Flora Macneil grew up in the 1930s on Barra in the Outer Hebrides. She is one of the last women to have been raised in the Gaelic oral tradition where song and poetry was passed down from mother to daughter while the men were at sea. Recorded by Hamish Henderson in the 1950s, she was celebrated at Celtic Connections in 2013.
Thursday 30th October, 12.30pm to 2pm
An amazing opportunity to hear Flora’s songs and poetry and find out more about her life.
