The Setting… the American Deep South in the early 1900s, Los Angeles during the 1992 riots, 1940s Palestine, a London housing estate, a society gathering on New York’s Upper East Side. Or a pleasant room at GWL, liberally sprinkled with tea, cake and laughter.
The Action… comedy, tragedy, farce, history, murder, mayhem, mystery, science fiction, social commentary, experimental, futuristic, thriller, tear-jerker, love story…no acting skills required.
The Cast… A nuclear scientist, a ratcatcher, a Bronte sister, a Russian peasant. And a group of lovely women who enjoy getting together to read the plays in GWL’s collection. In short, YOU.
Drama Queens is an armchair drama group without the limelight – informal play readings with no performance at the end! Everyone can read if they want to but some women just come along to listen. Come to one or come to all.
“I loved hearing the other women reading and joining in with them. Great atmosphere.”
