This week’s craft session will be a feminist, creative and activist response to the history of the Tennent’s Lager Lovelies. We’ll be reclaiming this part of Dennistoun’s history and creating our own “Dennistoun Dynamos” – decorating recycled cans with our own positive feminist slogans for women today and celebrating our own lives and the past lives of some of the Dennistoun women we have discovered through this project. No arts and crafts skills are required – all materials are supplied, but bring along a photograph of a Dennistoun woman if you would like to incorporate it in your design.

NB: This event is at Glasgow Women’s Library, 23 Landressy Street, Glasgow G40 1BP
Who are the women in Dennistoun’s past? Maybe you know a Dennistoun woman whose story deserves to be remembered? In this exciting new project, we’ll discover these hidden histories and then help to develop a new women’s heritage trail and booklet. You can meet new people, take part in creative arts and crafts sessions inspired by Dennistoun stories and learn new skills in how to discover local history.
