Cracking On: Lunchtime Poetry

This event will now take place at Glasgow Women’s Library, based on recent weather conditions not being ideal for picnics (we don’t want lots of people sitting about on damp grass even if the weather is better on the day). 

Join us for some fabulous poetry with Joy Howard and Grey Hen Press poets from Scotland and the UK, A C Clarke, Margaret Christie, Joy Howard, Eleanor Livingstone, Helena Nelson, Sheila Templeton and Margaret Wood.

Joy Howard founded Grey Hen Press to celebrate the wit and wisdom of women, particularly older women. Since then her much-praised anthologies, including, A Twist of Malice, Cracking On and Get Me Out of Here! have won big audiences with their tough, tender, ‘laugh-out-loud funny’ take on modern life.

Joy herself has been widely published, and her new collection, Refurbishment, came out in 2011.

The readings from Joy and other Grey Hen authors will take place over lunch time at Glasgow Women’s Library. Bring along a sandwich and enjoy a unique and inspiring lunch experience with some positive perspectives on growing older or “Cracking On”
