At the start of 2021, a group of women began meeting online to explore consciousness-raising (a practice used in the 60s where women met to discuss issues relating to their lives) along with creative making activities.
These discussions were the starting point for making artworks on paper for the Consciously Rising Exhibition at GWL.
Join members of Consciously Rising to find out more about the group, the exhibition, and their experience of working in a collaborative way to make artworks. The group will also introduce a new zine that they have made to accompany the exhibition with readings and poems.
