Stop press! Book Bunk are coming to Glasgow Women’s Library!
We are completely thrilled to be welcoming sister organisation Book Bunk to the library this August! Co-founders Wanjiru Koinange and Angela Wachuka and some of the Book Bunk team will be here for a week-long research trip and we’d love them to meet you! We have some events happening that are the perfect way to connect….
As part of our evening Autumn Programme Launch, Book Bunk will be showcasing their brilliantly bold vision for transforming public libraries in Nairobi into dynamic, inclusive spaces, with heritage, public art and shared experiences at their core. Their ground-breaking work includes the restoration of the McMillan Memorial Library, Kenya’s second oldest library, and two of its branches in Kaloleni and Makadara. A unique chance to hear from these trail-blazing women, who are harnessing the life-changing power of libraries.
These drop in sessions are free to attend, open to all, and there is no need to book. For general GWL opening times and how to get here see the ‘Where to Find Us’ section of the website.
