The culmination of our year-long Heritage Lottery funded project exploring women’s badge wearing.
Throughout the year we have been collecting women’s badges and listening to the wonderful stories attached to them. This exhibition will draw together all of this material, putting together GWL’s unique badge collections alongside the fantastic audio and video testimonials we have collected. From suffragette brooches to Pride pins and dancing medals, the exhibition will show the rich and exciting array of women’s personal and political achievements, and the often overlooked objects which capture them.
The exhibition launches on Thursday 1st May to celebrate Mayday and will run until Friday 23rd May. Our opening hours are 9.30am-5pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 9.30am-7.30pm on Tuesday. Pop in and see the exhibition during this period.
