Be nourished over lunchtime with stories and poems from women writers around the world, as we rediscover the joy of being read to. So far this year we’ve had our wanderlust unleashed with tales of St Kilda, our appetites whetted by banquets on Indian train journeys and our funny bones tickled by the weird and wonderful world of bookshops. Our Story Café Specials are an intimate way of hearing some of the freshest voices from Scottish writing, so top up your cuppa from our big, bottomless teapot, get yourself comfy and become a part of it all.
Warm, funny and devastatingly perceptive, Addison Jones’ new novel, ‘Wait for me, Jack’, is a wise and brilliantly observed portrait of a marriage over the course of sixty years. Following the lives of Jack and Milly on their quest to live the American Dream, we will learn about the difficulties not of finding love, but of making it last.
Addison Jones is the pen name for prize-winning author, Cynthia Rogerson. She holds a Royal Literary Fellowship at Dundee University and supervises on the Creative Writing Programme at Edinburgh University. Originally from the San Francisco area, she now lives in the Scottish Highlands.
