From Land to Lace workshops with Izzy Tinkler

What are the landscapes that care for you? 

Through two gentle workshops, inspired by Shetland’s knitted lacemaking traditions, we will re-imagine care and landscape. We’ll begin by experiencing hand-knitted lace through touch – feeling the wool, the time of knitting, and all the stitches in between!

From Land to Lace workshops with Izzy Tinkler, Tuesday 1st November and Thursday 3rd November, 2pm to 4pm, GWL, Free

Come to one, or both of the workshops. Whether you’re a complete beginner or experienced in knitting, there will be something to learn and share.

The workshops will be led by Izzy Tinkler, a non-binary artist based in Glasgow, who works with craft and performance to explore intimacy, time, and care.

This is one of our ‘Take Part’ events this autumn! (‘Attend’ events mean you can listen or look in and enjoy the event with no pressure to join in, though there will likely be opportunities to chat too! ‘Take Part’ events involve a bit more activity or participation on your part, you are of course still welcome to do so as little or as much as you would like to.)

Accessibility

Glasgow Women’s Library is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the first floor and the Mezzanine Floor. We have accessible toilets and all the bathrooms are individual closed stalls and are gender neutral. Our larger Events Space is fitted with an induction loop. A portable induction loop is also available.
