This photograph shows the Lesbian Archive displayed at Glasgow Women’s Library’s old space at Trongate.

After reading in The Pink Paper that the Lesbain Archive and Information Centre was in danger of closing Glasgow Women’s Library offered to help, resulting in the entire Lesbian Archive moving from London to Glasgow in 1995 and becoming part of GWL’s archive.

The Lesbian Archive remains one of the UK’s most significant LGBTQ+ archives, with materials dating back to the the 1920s.
