Lin Zongsu, 1878-1944
“I am Lin Zongsu, a Chinese suffragist and writer. In 1911 I founded the first women’s suffrage organization in China – the Women’s Suffrage Comrades Alliance – and was one of China’s most noted political feminist activists of the time, leading several women’s organisations until democracy in China was suppressed in 1913. I also became one of China’s first woman journalists and newspaper editors, publishing many articles on women’s issues.”
