Agnes Husband, 1852-1929
“I am Agnes Husband, a milliner and dressmaker. I was a suffragette and one of Dundee’s first women councillors. I campaigned tirelessly for women’s suffrage and worked long and hard on behalf of the poor and for better education. I also supported and encouraged my younger sisters to become involved in women’s suffrage. At the age of 74, I was awarded the Freedom of the City of Dundee.”
