Badges of Honour internship

The deadline for applications for this post has now passed.

Thanks to support from SCVO’s Creative Interns scheme we are looking for a Intern to work with the Library 35 hours a week. The post is open to unemployed graduates aged 18-30 with an arts or creative industries qualification – please contact your local Jobcentre Plus Personal Advisor who will check your eligibility.

The successful Intern will work with the GWL Archivists to:

  • Gather oral and video testimonies from women activists including organising and conducting interviews
  • Edit film footage.
  • Photograph interviewees and transcribing interviews.
  • Celebrate the changes women have made possible through their activism in a series of pop-up exhibitions and the development of an interactive Badges of Honour section of the GWL website.
  • Provide technical training and support for volunteers using digital camera, scanner, oral history recorder and film editing software.

The deadline for applications is 17th February at 5pm. Interviews will take place on 24th and 25th February.

Women only need apply as this is required to be for a person of a particular sex under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equalities Act 2010.

Hello! I was just wondering if there was a deadline date for the Badges of Honour internship application? I have the relevant form from the Job Centre to complete, I just want to make sure I get it to you in good time. Would it be ok to get it in by the end of this week? Hi Emma – we’ll be confirming the deadline tomorrow, but you’ll definitely be okay to submit your application before the end of this week.
