The deadline for applications for both posts has now passed.
In 2012 Glasgow Women’s Library celebrates its 21st Birthday.
Over the past 20 years GWL has grown from a grass-roots group with no funding and totally reliant on volunteers into a well-respected, professional organisation with 13 paid members of staff, an annual turnover of nearly half a million pounds and a volunteer cohort of 80+ per year, supported by a Volunteer Co-ordinator.
The organisation is well managed with a strong and ambitious vision underpinned in a robust three year Strategic Plan.
This next year arguably represents the most exciting and challenging to date, forefronted by relocation into permanent, fit-for-purpose premises after several years in temporary accommodation.
Following a series of processes involving the recruitment of a Property Agent to aid our search for suitable long-term premises, and working with Glasgow City Council, Clyde Gateway and Glasgow Life, GWL will, at the end of 2012 / beginning of 2013, finally relocate into a new home. There will be a public announcement as to the location of these premises in due course, but suffice to say that the staff team and Board of Directors are thrilled and proud of our growth and achievements to date.
