Dress Making Workshops

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone reading this. 2009 has already been a busy one in the world of Lifelong Learning at GWL. First course starting at the end of January, an Introduction to Social Science and Care – there is more information on the GWL site or give us a call if you are interested.

That, however, is not what I wanted to blog about today. Last year I got involved in a dress making class at Langside College and made myself a lovely dress which had several outings over the Christmas period. It was such an inspiring class and felt fabulous being able to say to people who complimented my dress that I made it myself. I was also interviewed by the Scotsman about my dress making endeavours so got a little mention of the library in the press as well! I came in to work this morning to an email about some forth coming workshops and exhibitions with Che Camille – a place I hadn’t heard of before but looks really interesting with fashion space, exhibitions, new designers, clothes swaps and clothes customising workshops – check out their newsletter here.

My next project is to help out a friend reupholster her victorian chez lounge, wish me luck!
