At one point last year, every Friday was my last day at the Library thus Gerry’s response to my statment of “This is my last day here” was a tiresome “Oh everyday is your last day”. That is why they decided not to hold a party this week, because farewell dos are apparently a signal that my contract will be extended and we can’t have that damn it!
I’m wrapping up my time at the library which has at all times been enjoyable and without competition has the loveliest, loveliest team of people to work for and with and given my idiosyncratic behaviour, also possibly the most understanding. I am however, looking forward to not working as much – at least for a few months until I secure a fulltime contract (obviously permenant would be nice as well, but that may be asking too much). So workmates, I bid you ‘au revoir’, you have been without comparision and I shall see you at the next potluck.
