Echo and the Removal Men

Nearly there. Nearly there. Nearly there. Our daily chant for the last month. We are now really really nearly there.

Bit of a panic yesterday though on calling the removal men to confirm our final flit today – they have no such booking. Mmm system problem perhaps. Upshot – they are coming on Saturday. Hurrah. Anyone that can help is welcome although I should clarify that we don’t need help physically moving, nay that is what the men are for (I am saying nothing further on that subject). We welcome help with painting the walls, making tea for women painting walls, directing removal men with items – ability to point alot required for this, general other tasks. Please come to either 109 Trongate from 10am or 81 Parnie Street from high noon.

109, in its nakedness, is increasingly eerie with a ghostly echo. Even I spook myself if I am here alone.

What is the collective noun for stars – no not a constellation as in twinkle twinkle, but a group of women who are so fantastic, so resourceful, so witty, so fun loving, so creative, so hard working, so supportive, so utterly lovely and wonderful that I am running out of adjectives. Yes, the Women’s Library has benefitted from many such women, but I specifically want to big it up for the GWL staff team who have worked so so hard for this move – Alison, Gen, Helen, Wendy, Adele – you truly are all stars. And so am I.
